Our society is male-ruled. Here men are believed to go out and earn for their families. Women are expected to stay at home and look after the family. Earlier this system was strictly followed in the society. A small number of such mentality can be seen even today. India is the second largest nation in the world in terms of population and the rate of education of women in India is very low. Due to this, the education of the women suffered a lot. He was not allowed to go out for studies. The education of the women was considered useless.

But, now the time has changed. Social conditions and needs have changed. Our country is in the phase of becoming a developed country. Now the education of the women cannot be ignored. About half of our population is women. Hence their education becomes equally important along with that of boys.

There are many benefits of educating a women. She takes care of the family. If she is educated, she can arrange finances at home, take care of the health of her family members. She can teach her children. Inflation is increasing day by day. Nowadays it is extremely difficult to run a household with only one person's income. Hence, she can contribute towards this also.

Education of women in India is necessary for the future of the country because women are the first teachers of their children who are the future of the country. Illiterate women cannot contribute to the management of the family and fail to take proper care of the children. Thus the future generation may be vulnerable. There are many advantages in the education of women. A well educated and graceful women can play an important role in the development of the country. An educated women can share the work and burden of men in different fields. An educated women, if not married at a young age, can serve the nation as a writer, teacher, lawyer, doctor and scientist. Apart from this she can perform very well in other important areas as well.

Educated women can make every member of the family accountable by imparting good qualities in the children. Educated women can participate in social activities and this can be a great contribution towards a socio-economically healthy nation. By educating a man only some part of the nation can be educated whereas by educating a woman the whole country can be educated. The lack of education of women has weakened the powerful section of the society. Therefore women should have full right to education and they should not be considered as weaker than men.

In this era of economic crisis, education is a boon for women. In today's time it is really difficult to meet the needs of a middle class family. After marriage if an educated women works she can help her husband to meet the family expenses. If a woman's husband dies, she can earn money by working. Education plays an important role in the life of every person, whether it is a boy or a women, education is very important for everyone. But in our society, gender discrimination is still done regarding education where the education of boys is given priority while women are denied education.

Education also widens the scope of thinking of women so that she can raise her children well. It also allows her to decide what is best for her and her family. Education helps a women to become financially independent so that she can recognize her rights and empowerment of women which helps her to fight the problem of gender inequality.

The government has taken many measures to promote women education. To provide free elementary education to the children. Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan has been started. Many women' schools have been opened. School-dress and cycles are provided free of cost to the women students. Financial assistance is given to the meritorious women students for higher education. Many organizations are also working in this direction.

Like boys, it is necessary to give different types of education to women. Their education should be in such a way as to enable them to perform their duties in a proper manner. Through education they become fully mature in all walks of life. An educated woman is well aware of her duties and rights. They can contribute like men for the development of the country. Therefore, it can be said that the education of the women can no longer be considered useless. It is the responsibility of the parents to ensure that their daughters also attend school compulsorily. They will not only help them in running their household but also in making the nation strong.
