Mother Teresa was a great personality who devoted her whole life in the service of the poor. He is famous all over the world for his good works. She will live on in our hearts forever as she was like a true mother. She was a great legend and is recognized as a symbol of sympathy and service of our times. She always considered herself a dedicated servant of God, who was sent on earth to serve the poor, helpless and suffering people of the slum society. He always had a generous smile on his face.

Mother Teresa's real name was Agnes Gonza Bojaziu. He was born on 26th August 1910 in Yugoslavia. His father's name was an Albanian who was a builder. His family was very religious. She played the mandolin and sang in the church choir. She had become a part of the church. She was joined by the Sisters of Our Lady of Loreto. At the very young age of twelve, Mother Teresa had decided on the purpose of her life. Love of man is the best feeling that makes him a true human being.

In 1929 AD, she came to Calcutta (Kolkata). He started teaching in a school. He got a better opportunity to know India. After seventeen years he quit teaching. He decided to work for the poor and needy people. The pathetic condition of the poor settlements affected him greatly.

Mother Teresa opened many charitable and missionary organizations. They got very little financial support. But, he never gave up hope. He continued to work. Slowly many people joined him. He started getting help. His campaign got new life.

He opened schools for poor children. Many charitable hospitals were opened. There the poor were treated free of cost. Medicines, clothes and other essential items were provided to them. The slums were cleaned. Orphans and abandoned children were given shelter.

Mother Teresa traveled to many countries. She was a messenger of love and respect for humanity. She used to serve the patients without any hesitation. Ultimately his small act became a great revolution. He was awarded the Padma Shri, Pope John XXIII Peace Prize and Bharat Ratna. He also received the Nobel Peace Prize.

Love for humanity cannot be confined to narrow fringes like country, caste or religion. If a person has a feeling of love and compassion, then he devotes his whole life to the service of mankind. Mother Teresa was the supreme among the many personalities who served human beings selflessly in the world. It should not be a surprise if he is called the epitome of love, compassion and service.

Mother Teresa was suffering from heart disease. Since 1989, he was breathing with the help of a 'pacemaker'. Finally on September 5th, 1997, she went to the afterlife. Mother Teresa, who served the victims whole-heartedly, is not with us today, but we should take a pledge to serve the orphans, helpless, sick by following the path shown by her. His death was an international loss. We all live for ourselves. But, he taught us to live for others. May he spend his whole life humanity, may his soul rest in peace.
