Introduction about Manmohan Singh

Dr. Manmohan Singh has an important contribution in this journey of the fast pace with which India is moving towards becoming a world power, he has moved the Indian economy from developing to developed in various positions.

Manmohan Singh's early life

Dr. Manmohan Singh was born on September 26, 1932 in Punjab (today's Pakistan). He lost his mother in his infancy and was brought up by his grandmother. After partition his family settled in Amritsar. Singh's father's name was Gurmukh Singh and mother's name was Amrit Kaur, who belonged to the Sikh community.

Their Education

He was interested in education since childhood. He completed his education from Hindu College and Panjab University. He was a very promising student. He studied economics. He also studied at the University of Cambridge. For higher education, Manmohan Singh chose Cambridge University, from where he obtained his PhD degree in Economics. Here he received the title of RITES for his outstanding performance. After this, he obtained the degree of D Phil from Nuffield College, Oxford University. He did his D. Phil from Oxford University. Wherever he got education, he has proved the iron of his intelligence. He did his BA from Punjab University in which he scored best marks. That's why he topped his MA in Economics.

His Political Career

Along with being an economist and thinker of high order, he is also a skilled politician. He has served in various ministries of the Central Government. Manmohan Singh has been the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission, the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, the Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister and the Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC). Manmohan Singh, who has a keen interest in education, is seen as a very smart and intelligent personality.

He worked for the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development till 1969 AD. He joined the Ministry of Foreign Trade as an advisor. In 1972, he became the Chief Economic Adviser in the Ministry of Finance. In 1976, he became the Secretary in the Ministry of Finance. In 1982, he went to the RBI. Governor was appointed. Dr. Singh, who uses very little speech, is considered a simple person with an introverted nature.

Dr. Singh is a great economist. In 1991, he became the Finance Minister. At that time the country was facing a huge economic crisis. He encouraged foreign investment. The Indian economy was made more capitalist. Many public sector companies were privatized. The United Progressive Front (UPA) came under the rule in the 2004 elections.

Dr. Singh became the thirteenth Prime Minister of India. Apparently, he completed the age of 72 in politics, when the UPA coalition formed under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi got a majority in the 2004 general elections as Atal Bihari Vajpayee's opponent, but Gandhi himself replaced Manmohan Singh without becoming the PM. Named ahead and thus became the 13th PM of the country, Dr. Manmohan Singh in the 14th Lok Sabha elections. Under his guidance, India became the second fastest growing economy in the world. In 2005 AD 'VAT' was introduced. Eight new IITs were opened. The security of the country was modified. In 2009, he was again sworn in as the Prime Minister. Presently he is a member of Rajya Sabha.

In 1987, the Padma Vibhushan award was given to Manmohan Singh. The fruits of his actions and strong decisions can be clearly seen in the progress of today's India. He has won the Asia Money Award for Finance Minister of the Year in 1993 and Best Parliamentarian award in 2002. Even after getting the biggest honors, the image of a common Indian is seen in them.

Conclusion

Dr. Manmohan Singh is a very learned person. He has been given the honorary 'Doctor' degree by the University of Madras and King Saud University. He has also been honored by the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford. We respect his talent and experience. Recently a film named Accidental PM has also been made on his life.
