When parents decide to kill the unborn female child in the womb just because they do not want her, then it is called female foeticide or female foeticide. It has grown significantly in the last few decades. Female foeticide was encouraged in India in the 1990s with the advent of technological advances such as parental sex determination in the medical field. However, earlier, in many parts of the country girl children were killed soon after birth. The sad thing is that even today the incident of female foeticide is heard and seen. In Indian society, girl child is considered as a social and economic burden so they understand that it would be appropriate for the family to kill them before birth. It is considered a punishable offense in India. But, even then it continues at a high rate.

Female foeticide is generally a heinous crime. Women are mainly victims of this crime. If a woman gives birth to a child, if a child is born in her womb, then some ignorant people from the society kill her before birth. This is called female foeticide in common language. In other words, female foeticide is the process of abortion to eliminate the girl child from the mother's womb before birth after a sex test test like ultrasound scan. Female fetus or any sex test is illegal in India.

In our society, men are given priority over women. They (men) are understood as the identity of the family. It is understood that they will be carrying the family name forward. Therefore, in earlier times, women had to give birth to daughters till the birth of a son. But, now we have ways to find out the gender of the unborn baby. This method is used to kill unborn girls.

As we all know that female foeticide is a crime and social disaster for the future of women. We should pay attention to the reasons for female foeticides happening in Indian society and regularly solve them one by one. Female foeticide is mainly due to gender discrimination. There should be a legal screw to control this. The rules related to this should be strictly followed by all the citizens of India. And anyone found wrong for this brutal crime must be punished.

There are many undesirable social reasons behind female foeticide. The parents have to pay a lot of dowry in the marriage of their daughter. Sometimes they even take loans for this. There is another reason, in today's era the safety of girls is also a big issue. On the other hand, there are many benefits to having a son. In the marriage of the son, he gets the desired dowry. The son takes care of his parents throughout his life. The age-old practice of dowry system is a major challenge before the parents in India which is the main reason to avoid the birth of girls. Some people have such a poor mentality that only son can earn for them. The main reason for female foeticide is tb>he preference of the child over the girl child because the son is the main source of income while the girls are the only consumer. There is a misconception in the society that boys serve their parents while girls are foreign money. Parents believe that sons will carry forward their name in the society, whereas girls are only there to take care of the house. The second major reason for illegal sex testing and termination of girl child in India is the legal recognition of abortion. Technological advancement has also encouraged female foeticide.

Female foeticide has given rise to very serious cases. The sex ratio has come down drastically. According to the 2011 census, the sex ratio in India is 943. This decline in the sex ratio has led to an increase in the number of crimes against women. Therefore, to stop such crimes, female foeticide must be stopped.

It is currently illegal in India to kill a child born before birth by gender test in the woman's womb itself. The girl is instigated by the in-laws of the woman to commit this heinous crime. This is a social crime, which we have the right to stop. Stop this crime and help make the society better. We need to understand that if girls are also educated properly, they can take care of their families. This is a matter of shame for the parents who want only child and child, as well as for this, doctors also help in getting abortions. Dowry system is illegal in India. So we have no right to kill a female child just for such invalid reasons. That too is a gift from God and must be accepted with love and respect.
