In the evening, the effigies of Ravan, Kumbhakaran and Meghnad are set on fire. They are stuffed with crackers. They burst with a lot of sound and light. Everybody enjoys the show. We remember Lord Ram and his goodness on this festival. The idols of goddess Durga are submerged into a pond or a river. With this, the festival comes to an end.

A holy festival like Dussehra should be celebrated beautifully. It is said that on this day Lord Rama killed Ravana and conquered Lanka. That is why effigies of Ravana are burnt on the day of Dussehra.
