'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' is a special scheme of the Government of India. Its goal is to increase awareness about welfare services related to women. Our Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi launched this program on 22nd January 2015. It was started from Panipat, Haryana.

Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao means saving girls and educating them completely. This scheme was started by the Indian government. The objective of this scheme is to increase the efficiency of welfare work for girls and women in Indian society as well as generate awareness among the people. An initial capital of several crores was required for this scheme. This scheme was started according to the census data of the year 2001, under which the sex ratio between 0 and 6 years in our country was 930 girls for every 1000 boys. After this, it saw a further decline in 2011 and now the figure had reached 915 girls per 1000 boys. In 2012, India was ranked 41st out of 195 countries worldwide by UNICEF. For this reason, awareness of people towards the safety of women and girls has become necessary in India today.

The Prime Minister has appealed to end evils like female feoticide. According to the 2011 census, the sex ratio in India is 943. It has gone downhill fast. We need to pay attention to this issue. The government also aims to spend money on the safety of women in big cities. All citizens are invited to make suggestions for the betterment of this programme.

A government social scheme named Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao has been launched by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to draw attention to the discrimination and gender inequality against girls in the Indian society. This scheme was launched by the Prime Minister on the date 22 January 2015, Wednesday, in Panipat, Haryana. This scheme has been made to make people aware about the importance of girls in the society. This scheme has been started to completely eliminate female feticide and to save the life of girls. This scheme will work to increase awareness among the common people and in this it has been asked to give status to the girl just like the boy. All girls and women have been asked to be educated responsibly.

Along with empowering little girls in the country, an important scheme was started to address the issue of proportion of the declining number of girls in the society. Along with bringing a positive change in the ideology of the people towards girls, this scheme tells the importance of girls in the Indian society. Today in Indian society the mentality of people towards girls has become very cruel. Many people believe that girls are a burden first for the family and then for their husbands.

Initially a fund of Rs 100 crore has been given for this scheme. The scheme also aims at gender equality. Women's education will also be encouraged. Attention will be given to the health of girls and women. More and more government and private hospitals will be opened for women. Women-Safety Cells have been set up.

Beti Bachao Beti Padhao is a government scheme started by the Prime Minister of India. In Indian society many restrictions are imposed on little girls which has become a hindrance in their proper growth and development. This scheme will prevent atrocities, insecurities, etc. against little girls. It is a general belief of Indian people that girls are alien wealth rather than their parents. Parents think that boys are their own who will take care of them in old age while girls go to other homes to serve their in-laws. The condition of young girls had worsened in the last decade as female feticide was spreading in a big way.

To encourage in this direction, the government has taken several steps and announced awards. Girls who will stand as role models for the society will be rewarded. Also the best parents/guardians will be respected. Therefore, the government wants everyone's support to make this program a success.

Half of the population of our country is women. The country cannot progress without their development. So now is the time when we should start taking proper care of our girls and women. They should have equal status in the society. They deserve our respect. The younger generation should take the responsibility of this on their shoulders. We hope that this program will get a positive response and will be successful.
